The tank & corals look nice, but Im sure the Tang Police will be here soon... I hope you have a larger tank planned for soon... those fish need a much larger tank than a 30g.

sorry I forgot to rezie the images.

Here is a video of the wavebox moving a Galaxia. Sorry quality is a bit poor. Since I pretty much don't know of anyone using a wavebox on a tank this small I have nobody to model mine after. Just did my best to make it work out.

I have a 150g but the tang is still too small to compete with the fish in there. I am fattening it up in here.

Tell the tang police to take a hike. Its your tank put whatever you want in it.

In the second pic what is that poking up just behind the clam?

vijaym85

Right behind the clam is a Cynaria, above it is a small frag of a Lobo brain, and above that is a Giant Cup mushroom

Considering the Tang is about 3inches and the tank is 3ft long that is 12x longer than the tang while a full grown one at 12inches in a 6ft tank has only 6x the length. So Relative to its size its in a good spot IMO at this present time.

Wow... A wavebox in a 3 foot tank. Rodger recommends at least a 4 foot tank to get the real wave effect and not just half waves and ect. Nice tank anyways but I would have to say it's time to upgrade.

I can get a 1.25inch wave if I want, but its too mcuh for most of my corals. I keep it a bit smaller, but I like the ability it has to sway everything.

Upgrade! its about to be 3 months old lol.

It was seeded using my 150 which has been up for 1yr and is now a FOWLR. That is why I have the wavebox and 400w MH. I just wanted to reuse my parts and not waste money. Spend more on corals instead :)

Your going to blow your seams off with the wavebox. ( no, really )

Tell you wife that you need a larger tank for the pretty blue and yellow fish... I has to be in the living room since you have to keep an eye on him... Wait for the right moment to tell her you actually bought a 6 ft tank...

Yeah they do reduce the life of a tank for sure. But I really don't push it hard. (Keep fingers crossed and knock on wood same time)! Its amazing piece of work. I have spoken to Roger a few times as well. He was suprised I could get such a large wave.

LoL, I am 22 so no wife to deal with, YET.

I am happy for now with this tank size. I plan on using every inch of space I can. Plus I alreadly have a 150g for my fish. I like smaller reefs only because you can have a nice tank for less cost and also the size of the water changes become simpler to handle and if you need to make large chnages to the tank its simple. Also it is easy to work around, since its relatively small. So far so good. NO need for insane equipment as well. I can use two part to dose and so on. In the future I will probably definately upgrade but no time soon. Besides I see a few empty spots still open LoL.

The biggest issue with the wavebox is the amount of room it takes up in the tank. It does blend nicely into a black background IMo, like an overflow.

anybody know of anyone else using a wavebox in a smaller than avg. tank? Would like to know how they are getting by.

yeah i have the tomato and perc. still. I have no problems. they both have their spots. the perc knows not to enter the more agressive tomato's space.

Honestly, it just doesn't look natural. The corals look too big for the tank and look like they're all just evenly spaced and plopped on a shelf. It also looks hurried and like you just went to the LFS and filled it up with every coral commonly stocked by the average LFS. There's no flow to the tank (in the design sense :p) and it lacks focus.

The leathers don't look happy, and I think you'd be better off with less light for the type of corals that dominate your tank. Plus, you're going to have some major stinging and chemical warfare going on if you don't already. Lastly, there are a few things in there that I just don't agree with people buying, but I'll spare you my lecture...

Sorry for being a bit harsh, but you asked for opinions :)

I plan on using every inch of space I can. Besides I see a few empty spots still open LoL You have some serious stingers within close proximity to each other. Corals are going to be warring with each other soon. Sweepers come out at night..take a look with a flashlight.
