I currently have 130w of PC lighting over my 29 gallon tank. The tank is mostly LPS's, blastos, Acans, Brains, with some mushrooms and zoos. I'm looking in to this 150w MH lighting fixture. I would lose my actinic lights, but I might have some gains using MH (coloration and growth). Here are the things I am concerned about::

1. Heat- I already evaporate 1 gallon of water per day with my PC lights.

2. Burning some of the corals. Some of my LPS's are lower light.

3. Losing the dawn/dusk cycle even though the 14,000K bulb should take the place of the actinic durning the day. The light does have 6 white and 6 blue moonlights so I can replicate some different lighting conditions.

How can I avoid some of the problems listed above? The light will be placed right over the tank on legs.

I have the outer orbit, which has both T5 and MH as well as moons.
I like this better for light graduation and heat issues.

I couldn't go with that model because they do not make in in a 30" version. That was the one I wanted though. Here's a shot of the tank w/ the PC's on it:

I hope these MH's will work out with my LPS's.

So far so good with the 150w 14K MH lights on it. They are so much nicer than PC's.
