i have an mr2 mr2 with 1 beckett, but pre drilled for the second with pump(genx pcx40) and mrc waste collector. i have done the u-tube mod which made all the difference in the world. no bubbles in the return.

i am in the process of taking it out of my sump now. i took a few pics right after i started, and put them in my gallery. i will take more in a few minutes when i get it out and cleaned up a bit.

there will be a 10.00 price drop because i forgot when i first got the skimmer i didnt know not to tighten the air valve too tight, and cracked the beckett housing. i repaired it with weld on #16 and it worked like a charm. it was like new again, but it sure as heck didnt look like new. anyway the crack does not effect performance, but it is unsightly. im about to attempt to post pics. this is my first time posting pics, but i took a pic of the crack.

This is the wonderful u-tube mod. it stops the microbubbles from comming out of the gate. i put an elbow to direct the flow around the body of the skimmer because without the u mod there is alot more turbulence in the body, but the mod, and the elbow cut that down to a minimum. this made the skimmer perform even better.
i did not glue any of this in though, so if you want to test it without it, change the direction of flow or whatever, you will be able to.

NOW FOR THE DREADED CRACK.
this is completely sealed up, and is as sturty as any other part of the beckett housing. but it is UGLY!!!

now if you want to get another beckett guangtan has one for sale for $40. you could replace this one with that one if you like, but if i were you and i bought it, i would use them both, and have a dual beckett MONSTER. your call though.
