We currently have a red serpent (Ophiomyxa australis) and want to move it to our 75 reef tank. I also have a mandarinfish whose safety I am concerned for! They are slow moving fish and I don't want her to wind up as a sea star's meal. I know the green brittles are known for being fish eaters.

There is some debate going on in our house because of that–I feel that they are closely related enough that the red serpent might possibly eat fish. Has anyone ever heard or known of that happening?

The green serpent star is Ophiarachna incrassata. These two species are in different families so they're not that close. There aren't any reports of O. australis or of any brittle other than O. incrassata catching live fish.
