i just got one...i guess ill give updates of the write up on this thread too....

InLimbo87
what are the dimensions of your sump? can you show a pic of the goods down below?

InLimbo87
03/09/2007, 09:01 AM
Not sure on the dimensions, i had measured it myself at one point but lost the dimensions. I bought it off of a guy on nano-reef.com used that he had built custom for this tiny stand. I believe it holds about 10-11g when its running, and 15 when its full. I haven't gotten around to taking a pic of it running yet, but here it is when it was on his tank.

Fits so perfectly I had to take the door off to get it in. (Its back on now). But, with the light on at night, you can see the entire sump lit up through the glass door.. I love sumps so its pretty cool. going to have to get a shot of that

raastamon
03/09/2007, 01:13 PM
oh yea ive seen that sump on cheifereefs thread. i thought it was an awesome design and would love to have one...i guess the best way to do it is get it custom built. r u using a hang on back skimmer in the rear of the sump? or r u not using one at all, i thought i saw the return from a skimmer in the middle into the fuge area.

thanks alot,
ramon

By the Power of Greyskull!!! Here is my 30G cube. I only had it set up for about 3 months before I had to break it down to move. It is in the midst of being set back up again. I only had a couple of corals at breakdown time but am getting ready to get her ramped back up for some SPS. Here are the specs.

30G cube
20G custom sump from acrylicsumps.com
T4 Pump on CLS to a OM squirt
Quiet One 4000 for the return pump
Deltec MC500 skimmer

Lighting
Aqua Medic 250W MH
2 x 55W 420 PC actinic
LED moonlighting

1/10HP Pacific Coast Imports Chiller
Reefkeeper 2 Controller
Various computer fans for cooling and air circulation

I built the stand, canopy, and back enclosure as you see it. I wanted to make this thing as quiet as possible and hide as much plumbing as possible and this is the end result.

Hey navyav8tr, very slick and well- laid out set up you have there. I am very impressed! Could you set up a tank for me??

callbak
03/09/2007, 06:57 PM
Very impressive tanks guys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My tank has been set up 3 months and doesnt resemble anything as nice as you have YET. I havent even considered modifying the cube with a sump.
What type of light setups do you have and were they addons?? I noticed clams in the the pictures as well as sps and lps. My set up w/lighting will not allow me to do clams and lps...........

Keep up the great work !!!!!

Ok after getting the OK from the little lady (and showing her the pictures in this thread) we are going to give a black background a test drive before she will let me paint it.

InLimbo87
03/10/2007, 08:59 AM
I just went with the tape on background because my tank had a clear one for a while. Has been working out well, however, I'm going to have to change it out soon because whenever water drips in between the background and the tank it is warping the paper.

Form of haphazardly done tank!

http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i222/jsun988309/front.jpg

Yes, went a little frag crazy but that's when the depth of a cube comes in handy, and I will hopefully be upgrading soon.

I still love oceanic 30 cube's even though I've sold mine a couple months ago. I think I may just be crazy enough to get one again as I miss my old one :(

DisturbedReefer

Not at all, anything larger than a krill is safe with him...for now. It has even jumped on to try to clean a few times, the lion just flicks him off.
