This is somewhat a shot in the dark... but if you have a broken SCWD laying around just taking up space I would love to take it off of your hands for a little do it myself project.
Thanks!

Zooid- yea the internal gears can break or (hopefully and usually) it is just the rotating disc inside that is cracked. In both cases vinegar unfortunately cannot fix.

Ian- I may wait another day or so to see if anyone in the Denver area has one. If I can't find one would you be willing to ship it down to me if I sent you some money via paypal?

I have had a SCWD for like 5 years now, and only once has it every stopped rotating the wateer back and forth. I took it to the sink, ran hot water thru it and did a little shake with the water inside. Some gunk came out and it worked like new again, and that was last week I did that for the first time. Those things are pretty good, just don't tossing too much flow thru them.

Hmm have they even been out 5 years or am I just doing the old fishermen story telling thing here?

Thanks Nate, let me know.
Questin, I think they are great devices especially for the price. I just had the gears break on mine and the inner disc was rubbing up against the side. I also try not to run too much flow through them.
