Yellow Head eels are very aggressive, i would be careful about adding another eel. As for Zebra eels they are not too difficult. I had two for awhile. You just want to make sure that they are eating at the fish store before buying them, some stop eating and don't eat.

has anyone buried a piece of PVC in the sand for a hiding place for the eel? if so how did it work out?

It works...just make sure the diameter is wide enouqh for the eels. 2 to 3 inch pipe should OK.

Wow! And here I thought my Snowflake was cool. You guys rock. I just want to say I have been hanging out on another aquaria board and all they say when ever I mention an eel is...."isn't that salt water?"

I think I might stay here for a while. I found kin.

Im a fellow Rhode Islander and also frequent bostonreefers.org which is a nice board. Its a good place to meet people, pick up some frags, and ask questions-check it out.
