going to get 2 46.5 inch VHO's for my tank. Any recommendations on what to get? They will be paired with a pair of 250 watt 10K Metal halides. As always, Thanks!

I really like the color of the URI Super Actinics...Ask Mateo how they looked over my tank. Too bad you can't do 48", I have a few new ones I'd sell you cheap!

get the actinic vho's, they are more expensive and won't last as long but the supplemental actinic color is WAY better especially with MH, I am setting up a t-5 lighted tank and will STILL be pairing vho actinic with it.

Do you already have the Metal Halides? What ballast were you going to use for the VHO's? I run three 250watt 10k hamiltons with two 60" URI Super Actinics. The lights are on seperate timers which creates a dawn to dusk effect that changes the "mood" of the tank.

If you haven't purchased any lights yet, check out Daves T5s you can really adjust your cololrs with the many bulbs available.

I purchased the ballasts and the MH from a local reefer here so I am going to use them. Thanks for your suggestions.

mdrumm, Jaw969's tank is amazing with the super atinic's. It gives the bust color that I have seen period. What it does is makes the corals POP!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Do it man...

If you run with Halides, then do both bulbs Actinic, if you go with out the Halide, do a 50/50 and a Super Actinic, or better yet, 1 50/50, and 2 Super Actinics if you get a good ballast and run more bulbs.
