the pipe cave concept is an awesome concept though...i wonder if the two eels ever back into each other. I would think that detrius settling into the tubes would become a problem though...

what's the exact purpose of the pipe? is it to keep the eel from eating the fish?
As for the eels backing into each other no problem. You see a mixture of eels at fish store in one pvc pipe and they dont fight.
How about these? Its ABS pipe then covered in those fake rock mixes.

pump-less closed loop setup. the eels laminar motion provides circulation for the whole tank.

In one of the videos or pictures it shows a linkia star coming out or going into the tube, so im assuming it cleans it out. Although I would be worried about sand filling up the tube and burying the eel alive

That is really cool. I wish I had seen that BEFORE I dumped 100s of lbs of rock in my tank... ;P

What a odd group of fish. In one video I saw 2 seahorses, snowflake eel, ribbon eel, lookdown fish, yellow tang, purple tang, 6 coral cats, several damsels, clownfish, lawnmower blenny and a manderian.

The author wrote that the snowflake tried to drag the ribbon eel out of the pipe so found a new home for the snowflake.
