What's the hydro date on the tank?

PSEUDOREEFER

"hydro date"?

GoldenReef

Since a lot of this was donated to the school or at low cost is the money going back to the student council or the school.
Bet people could get a tax benefit too??

The equipment listed was bought at retail from funds due to grants, traded for or is some of my personal old equipment (except for the 150 gallon tank itself which was donated), but everything made from these sales will go directly toward building a nano aquarium as the best replacement we can afford. Donated items are tax deductible (from my knowledge up to a certain percentage with proof of the donation- I believe a letter from the school is all that is necessary, but I don't know the exact laws that apply or what percentage specifically).

I know you put a lot of work into it sorry it crashed..

As a side note, I can send in the dolphin pump for a new seal if the buyer would like to avoid the hassel. The standard seal (expected life of about 3 years) is $25 and the abrasive-proof silcon-carbide seal (10-12+ years) is $85. Shipping is $14.75 ground. That comes to an added $39.75 for the standard seal or $99.75 for the silicon-carbide seal installed by the manufacturer.

What is the latest date stamped on the tank?

This will be the last time it was pressure tested.

The tank will have to be recertified 5yrs from that date before it can be refilled.

This is also known as the "Hydro date"

This link will tell you more about the test.

I don't think you can take a tax deduction for buying something (even if doing so benefits some non-profit). But I could be wrong.

Thanks,

Brad

Donations to me are tax deducable, not sales from me.

That's probably what John meant, too, but I was confused because the thread is about buying...

Thanks for clarifying.

You dont sell the item, you give them away for a donation. The legal deduction would be for the donation minus the value of the product you received. 50 dollar donation for a pump that was worth 30 dollars = 20 dollar deductions. Not really worth the hastle.
