I have been working on an idea for a DIY dozer for some time. I have most of the stuff lying around so I just need to put it together. The diagram below is a ruff sketch of what I think will work. The “2g holding tank” is for one part of Randy’s two part mix. The plan is to have the smaller container with the float switch adjusted to hold the amount of additive I want to dispense at one time.

The digital timer comes on for about one minute or just enough time to fill the small container.
The relay causes the solenoid valve to close and the Aqualifter fills the small dispensing container
After the small dispensing container is full the float switch cuts the pump off and the timer cuts off
When the timer shouts off the solenoid opens pack up and
the additive is dozed into the tank.
The last hose from the dozing container has a drip emitter
That can be adjusted to spread out the dozing.
In 24 hours the process repeats itself.

I have all the stuff to make one except for the solenoid valve so I am going to try it. Even if you buy all the stuff it should not be over $60. Anyone see a huge flaw here?

I would skip the solenoid since its just a drip. I'd switch the float to a latching set up so the top float can be adjusted as the tanks demand changes. I'd use a pump that fills the container quicker than the aqua lifter.
I used this sort of set up for awhile and it worked out just fine.

Thanks, I do plan to make the float switch adjustable. What do you mean by "latching setup"?

A latch will make sure it doesnt fill unless its empty.

Do you mean adding another float switch lower to turn the pump on. Then the upper one to turn it off?
