Yes he did. I know there are bigger tanks out there, but Steve Weast's is still big and towards the top of best tanks IMO!

Spazz didn't get kicked off. Bill Wonn the owner of the large tank got kicked off. Spazz is still an active member of reef central in good standing.

Energy's 1,700 gal tank is right up there with the big ones.

This one is pretty sweet too. Might be the biggest reef I have seen posted.

Really there are two different classes. Reef tanks, and then the others. A big class box with thousands of gallons of water and a few sharks is neat, but no where near the same as a similar capacity full of corals of all sorts.

I understand Bill's tank will be a full on reef. I can't imagine the commitment, but it looks like it is goint to be amazing.

Yes, built into his house uses skylights and halides. Lives in NC too. It was in a magazine a few years back with build pics and some completed pics also.

Is that the one with that is made out of cement and sits sorta below ground on the side of the house...? If it is he did an article on building realistic reefs versus walls of rock ! He commented on building islands of rock in his long tank so that the corals could migrate out into the sand and the fish had tons of swimming space.

The biggest reef tank I know, is the 20,000 gallon reef at Atlantis Marine World in Riverhead, on Long Island.
The tank is incredible!!!!!!!!!!
