I have a 35g Oceanic rectangular tank, 36x12x16(tall) and Current Satellite 96w PC light. Can I keep Zoos or any other corals with this or do I absolutely have to upgrade?

Thanks!

I've been keeping zoo's under 20 watt strip lights for weeks with no problems.

I think you could keep really low light corals in your tank, zoos actually like quite alot of light though. But the corals would need to be quite close to the top.

You can keep many soft corals, zoanthids, and some LPS like frogspawn, hammer coral, etc.. You don't have to upgrade unless you want corals that require more intense light like SPS, and some LPS corals. The depth of your tank will allow you to keep a lot of different corals.

edit: Whoops, just saw the 1x96w in your sig. Scratch everything after soft corals.

Many Softys such as leathers and mushrooms will do OK.

you should be fine with keeping zoo, mushrooms, other polyps.

I'm kicking myself now because I just purchased this light several months ago when I was first starting out. I said to myself "I probably won't be into corals for at least a year or so".....

If I upgrade to the 2x96 Current Satellite PC system that should be sufficient for just about anything correct? I'm trying to stay at or around $200 and I need something that is self contained.

PC's are not sufficient for "any" coral. You will still be ok with zoo's, mushrooms, maybe some other soft corals. You might be able to keep hard corals alive, but not keep them colored up. they would most likely just turn brown.

this light would be great for most corals.

Yeah, the T5 lights a re good for most corals. I've had soft corals do great with them, and hard corals do pretty good with them aswell.
