Return Pump Suction Intake Advice Needed

Does anyone have any pictures of how they've laid out their return pump suction intake? I'm running my pump externally and just having the bulkhead in the wall seems to make the water swirl horzontally and this causes any remaining air bubbles not to be released as easily.

Sounds like the water is a bit shallow and the volume of the return sections is somewhat undersized. You could certainlyu make a baffle box to sit in front of it, or use one of the intake screens from aquaticeco. Even a street elbow turned down and trimmed to fit if need be.
