I have a 30 gallon tank with a 10 gallon sump. The tank has 2 40w Dual Daylight 6,700k & 10,000k PC Bulbs and 2 40w Dual Actinic 420nm & 460nm PC Bulbs over it. So far I have only kept softies. Is my lighting adequate for LPS?

I think you should be okay. I have a 15 gallon with 2 x65 watt PC's and I have a hammer coral, frogspawn, blastamussa merletti and acanastraea and they have been thriving. Most LPS aren't as light demanding as SPS.

I agree. Some lps may be happier up nearer the lighting, and if you have any problems you can always swap out your dual actinic bulb for something more useful to the corals (10k/actinic maybe?) It's worth a shot though, I just wouldn't go hog wild buying lps before you've tried one for a while first.

i have those same lights! i keep hammers, frogspawn, brain, candy cane, a flower anemone, several polyps, and ricordia under these lights.

your colors wont be as intense though, but all my corals do fine.

Thanks for all the responses. I think I'll start with a frogspawn frag.
