Think Red Dragon Pump. This pump sets the BK above all others.

Craftsmanship, quality assurance and performance helps also.

Not at all. Your ER will take down the BK.

duc was definetly kidding ;)

The BK`s are in a league all by themselves with regards to NW skimmers.

They can be bought at FinsReef.com, but the majority of the users can be found on the zeo forum for many different reasons. One of which is that the owner of Royal Exclusive, Klaus Jansen (sp?) is a regular on that site, and possibly a sponsor as well.

My humor has been pretty bad lately. Too much MadTV.

All things are relative. A lot of people here think $400 is a lot for a skimmer. $2k is not a bad price to pay for a skimmer, especially if you have $10k worth of livestock.

if you see one of the BK skimmers in action you will see why are they the best. the foam that they produce is like the fine foam from beer after tapping a keg. They are also dead silent. I was able to see them in action @ MACNA this past year and I went from a non-believer to a follower. Like RIDETHEDUCATI said above, $2k is not a bad price to pay when you have $10k worth of livestock.

Experts are learning that protein skimming is critical for marine aquaria, particularly sensitive reef aquaria. As a system matures, protein skimming can become the most important type of filtration.

Chuck "Moonpod" on this forum runs a Bubble King. I believe he has reported his evaluations on the Large Reef forum. Dennis

This would be a great one to justify to the wife.

"Honey, I'm going to drop $2000 on a machine that is the best at making really smelly crap."

Her response - "So you've found a substitute for your butt huh?"

Seriously, it is all relative. I would drop two grand on a guitar in a heart beat. That's cheap compared to some of my others. I can definitely see how if you had a lot of expensive live stock you would want a BK.
