Sweetwater Epoxy Paint question for cool project.

I purchased a sheet of acrylic and Black pond foam to use to create a textured background. I would like to paint it with Epoxy paint since UV can cause the foam to deteriorate.

Is painting it with the gray sweetwater epoxy paint or worse? Here is a line from the description of the paint ---> "after long exposure to UV, it typically develops a chalky surface".

It was my understanding that the "Black Pond Foam" was already protected from UV. I read that on a post within the last year. I'm looking in google now.
