looking to buy ro/di. really like Kent Maxxima 24gpd. but the corallife ro/di is cheaper and wondering if it was worth it. then there are the multi-stages on ebay and are they worth it.

www.thefilterguys.biz Inexpensive RO/DI units and outstanding customer service before and after the sale. They are awesome.

For a $150, they can't be beat. :)

True but if cost is not an issue and you want the best you should look at the SpectraPure Maxcap. I bought one a few days ago.

the www.thefilterguys.biz look great but are only offering 75gpd or larger and the more gpd the greater the amout of waste water. thier ro/di+ 75gpd has a 4:1 waste ratio. but thier price and shipping are almost making it worth it.

side by side, all these units "look" the same. you'll find when you do some research that Spectrapure costs more for a reason. they use superior materials in their filters which will tend to filter better and for longer.
.5 micron vs 1 or 5 micron prefilters is just 1 example. saving $50 or even $150 on a piece of equipment that produces the foundation of my system wasn't something that i had to mull over.

You want a 75 GPD or Spectrapures 90 GPD unit not a puny 24 GPD, you will be waiting a week to get any water. Prices are normally about the same but a 75 GPD makes the same quality water 300% faster with the same amout of waste or less.
I agree the Spectrapure MaxCap is the absolute best. Next up are three other RC sponsors, www.buckeyefieldsupply.com , www.thefilterguys.biz and www.purelyh2o.com .

I have been using a SpectraPure CSPDI unit for 7 or 8 years now and am extremely happy with it. Their customer service has been friendly, very helpful and first rate before and after the sale.

Very well worth the money!

I've also heard good things about AWI's Typhoon units. They seem to be priced well. The Typhoon 5 @ $149 seems comparable to the Filter Guys' Ocean Wave+ five stage unit. Are there differences here that I don't see?
