Ok, we think these are called glove polyps, however they are taking over our tank...they are on every rock and have started growing on everything including the sand bed...help

Don't paticularly look to ugly but just put a rock or something to cover it. No light no life. Or you could probably peel it's mat off. Kind of a pain but will come off.

scuba4ever, you are an addictions counselor? Really? And your'e a reefer?

Isn't that kinda like a methadone addict counseling heroin addicts? :) You must really like a personal challenge :)

This may be complete misinformation, but a store here that has them says they are colonial zoanthids. Sounds goofy to me. They sure look like teeny clove polyps.

Whatever they are, they looked interesting and I asked for some intending to have them cover an exposed pipe in my tank. I didn't get them because they warned me they are invasive.

Most likely Acrossota sp., and yes they can spread like mad.

I say frag them and sell them to the LFS for store credit. :)

These are octocorals. Zoanthids aren't. "Teeny clove polyps" is a lot closer identification than "colonial zoanthids".
