Ocean Nutrition Spirulina Formula & Protein Skimmers

I've noticed that any time I feed my fish a cube of Ocean Nutrition's "Spirulina Formula," my skimmer goes crazy and fills with green water within 20 to 30 minutes. Sometimes it even fills to overflowing.

Anyone else noticed this, or do you think I have a bad batch of Spirulina cubes?

At this point, I'm throwing what I have left in the garbage. It's just not worth the inevitable problem.

Odd, I feed that 3 times a week, but I turn off my return pump and skimmer for 45 minutes when I feed as I also feed Phyto at those same times and cyclops.

i crank mine back a full turn on the gate valve after feeding, turn back up in morning
