do i need a skimmer??

i have a plate coral and it is doing fine... nothing is wrong with it, it is opening a lot etc... i plan to get more coral and i have some button polyps that just showed up on my live rock one day.....

i have a 14 gallon biocube that has been set up for around 3 months

i dont really understand what a skimmer does and im not sure if mine has a skimmer?? any knowledge at all/?

water changes are enough for your setup the job of a skimmer is to create small bubbles that carry the disolved matter like fish food left over or fish poop and carry it into a cup so you can make your water cleaner and last longer before a water change.
