Whats the Diff? Canister filter VS. Reactor

Hi,

I'm deciding how to run carbon, floss and phosphate removing material on my setup. ATM I just hang it in micro bags in my sump. I wanted to know how reactors work in comparison to canister filters. Since canister filters are much cheaper.

reactors usually work with less flow through control with tees/vallves

also reactors are usually setup to disperse the flow through the media better instead of just channeling it
