The one from FilterGuys, how much does this thing weigh? I was ready to place an order, the shipping cost was $35.00! I added an undersink adapter($10.00), which added another $9.00 to the shipping costs, $44.00 for shipping!

Yep, I did read that they are recommended, but I may be going with the Typhoon III, they also come recommended. It would be $15.00 cheaper to ship. Not a whole lot of money, but enough to buy a test kit, maybe two:D

Regardless of where you buy the unit (I recommend Filter Guys), make sure you get one with a min of 100g/day.

I bought mine used, locally, but buy all replacement cartridges from Filter guys. Just can't beat their knowledge and service.

DO NOT get the 100 GPD, thats the worst thing you can do. A Dow 100 GPD membrane is not a true RO membrane but is a 90% efficient nano filter unlike the 98% efficient 75 GPD RO membrane. Never get the 100.

Ditto.... the DI resin will last about 5 times longer with the 75 GPD then the 100 GPD....

Actually much longer than that. A very good rule of thumb is for every 2% increase in RO efficiency you double the life of the DI resin so it much more than 5 times longer if the efficiency difference is 8%.

I'm in the market for a RODI as well and did read, somewhere, that the 100GPD is not efficient.

I agree with a couple of posts here! Go with the Typhoon III rated at 75 gpd. A great filter and great people to deal with.
