Like I have said, the object dock on a mac is an awesome feature. Plus I am a huge fan of the clean desktop look.

It is the free version of this software.

http://www.stardock.com/products/objectdock/

it is basically a replacment for the taskbar. It does require you to tweak it to fit your liking. But if you can figure out a computer it isnt that hard to do.

Adam, thanks for the link. I am just setting it up right now and so far so good. I have 3 questions though. Is it possible to get the start menu in the tool bar? And is there a way to hide the Recycle Bin that is on the desktop? I got rid of all the other icons except for that one. Lastly, how did you get the time to display numerically? I can't get it to change from the clock to digital time.

Thanks again!!!

Yes you can add a start menu link and a clock, you need to download what are called docklets. Just go to the configure dock screen>docklets>at the bottom is a link to download more docklets. Just search for start menu, and clock. It shouldnt be to hard to find. Download the files then unpack them into
c:>program files>stardock>object dock>docklets
You can then go back to the configure dock screen>docklets, and they should be available on that screen. You can also download higher res images for all your links as most of them get blurry.

To remove your recylce bin, if you are using xp then go here http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/d...powertoys.mspx and download Tweak UI. Once installed there is an option to hide the desktop.

Here is my most recent shot. I have downloaded all new high res icons for every program, and changed a few things.

i don't use this, but try using the the windows "Cool Switch"

Alt + Tab. after you hit this once hold the alt key down and hit the tab key repeatedly to cycle through your open windows.

it adds an icon when you minimize a window, just like a task bar.

Fun seeing all you PC folks trying to emulate the perfection that is Mac...

Dual displays here as well.

Display 1 (Powerbook 15"):

Display 2 (some old crappy 1024x768 CRT):

Hey, I managed to catch Safari doing the genie effect down to the dock. Sweet.

Also, here's my Dashboard on Display 1 (don't use it on D2 cause I disconnect that display any time I move the PB):

Any more Mac folks?

I like the desklets on your mac, i wonder if they would work on a linux desktop...

I know I've done this before. I can't remember how I compressed the file size to fit the 50k limit. ?!?
The screen shot I've got is twice that size.
Suggestions?

Use photoshop to save for web, or use an external host such as www.photobucket.com that has a 250kb limit
