Stocking advice?
I have a 65 gal, 36x19x24 reef, with mostly soft corals, and a couple lps. My current inhabitants are a Midas blenny, Occellaris clown, Decorated goby and a Chrysiptera hemicyanea, the Azure Damsel. Hes very docile, especially from what I've heard about damsels, so I'm not worried about aggression from him.
My questions are, I'd like to add one or two more fish to the tank, and was wondering what my options are. I'm considering a second clown or another goby or blenny of some sort, but will another shrimp goby, such as a yellow watchman, or another blenny, like a bicolor cause aggression issues with my current fish? Also, I'm looking for something very colourful, and an avid swimmer, thats of decent size. Would a fairy wrasse or a single anthias(Are they ok on there own rather then groups?) work? What about a smaller tang, though I believe my tank is on the small side for them. any other suggestions are welcome, thanks. Edit: I'm also keeping various inverts such as shrimp, so I would prefer something that doesnt feed on them. |

I'd say you could definently do another clown, and I'd go with a fairy wrasse (also look at flasher wrasses).

I'd say a fairy wrasse (i have a solar wrasse, he cruises around all the time in search for pods and mysis shrimp) and a lawnmower blenny (i actulley just got one today and it has the most personality out of any fish I've ever had and after 5 min of being in the tank he is crusiing around eating all my algae, hair algae, this cup algae, and this leafy algae)

How bad is the color fade in fairy wrasses, like a Scotts, when they arent kept in harems? Is it a drastic change, or more of a minimal one?
Crazylion, I've heard that lawnmowers will go after other blennys gobies, any experience with that? |

Any advice on the wrasses, or aggression between multiple gobies or blennies? I've heard the midas can be aggressive to ones like the bicolor?

Scotts are rated as one of the worst faders, but they're still extremely beautiful, one of two fairys I'd actually buy.. So pretty, even without the breeding colors.
The blennies/gobies might be aggressive towards each other, but given the tank size, and provided there's enough caves, I dont see a huge problem. Still, you should wait for more feedback on this. |
