should it be okay?
I have a 55 gallon all glass tank, sea clone skimmer, 20 gallon diy sump, and 48' 260w odyssey compact flourecent (2x 65w day) (2x 65w 03 actinic) lighting.
For the fish i have 1 blue hippo tang, 1 percula clown, 1 mandrin goby, 1 niga trigger (plan on getting rid of him, getting too aggressive), 1 scopas tang, and 1 blue damsel. Ammonia: 0 , Nitrate: 0 , nitrite: 0 Ph: 8.2 i just bought a assorted mushroom rock from my lfs. I want to get more coral and slowly convert it into a reef. Can anyone tell me if this is a good set up, and is ready for some coral?

Test Calcium and Alkalinity and if those are on track you should be ready to put in coral. How long has the tank been set up?

I believe the tank is too small for the 2 tangs unless you plan on upgrading to a much bigger tank?

get rid of the tangs, do the testing for the water params......whoever told you it's OK to put 2 tangs (let alone 1!!) in a 55gal should get a slap upside the head.
