Question What wood for a hood

I want to make a hood for a 20 long. I have redwood, ash, and oak on hand. I could buy some teak or cypress, but would rather not.Since this is a small hood I will make it a lift off type rather than mess with hinges and most likely will paint the inside.I plan on having plexigless as a barrier between the tank and the lights. So will this work and make me and make me happy wealthy, and wise. Or am I 180 off? Fred

Well to me it would depend on what the stand is made of. I would make it to match. any of those woods you listed will do the job, but you have to decide what you want it to look like, i personally prefer oak.

That will work fine. Use what ever wood you would like they will all work fine.
