Sfiligoi Infinity XR4 HQI System w/ ACLS

Hi all,

I just wanted to post some pics of my new lighting system since prior to purchasing the unit I had a hard time finding information on it.

I want to thank Greg at Reef Geek for an outstanding job with all my questions and excellent packaging! Thanks Greg!

Greg did not want to ship the entire system in one box since we all know how fragile items tend to get damaged in shipment especially if its heavy mixed with glass.

The system I bought is the Sfiligoi Infinity XR4 HQI System: 2-250W MH & 4-54W T5 HO w/ ACLS & Moonlights.

The two 250w metal halides are BLV 10K double ended bulbs. The T5's are four 54w Sylvania Coralstar tubes. There are two LED moonlights in between each of the two T5's in the middle of the fixture. Also the LEDs are also replaceable. There are two ACLS (Advance Control Lighting System) one master and one slave. All connections to the fixture are made with two molex cables. Now to the pics!

Shipment day!

Super duper Reef Geek packing!

Time to hang

This was the only way for me to center all the studs to the fixture in order to center it over the tank. Not so bad... Speaker in the back is my side surround.

ACLS units powered on.

I'm running it with the new bulb feature since I moved from 150w so the 250w are running at 75% and increasing over the course of 15 days I think it said...

Beautiful fixture and control system! Sfiligoi is top quality, up there with Giesemann. Both in a class of their own.

What's the website for ReefGeek? I thought there was only one distributor for Sfiligoi in the US.

Nice lights, and nice tank!

Gotta love the high end equipment - what lights (reflectors, bulbs, ballasts) were you running before?

Hi Raul-7, www.reefgeek.com Greg from reef geek had some fixtures/systems for sale at reduced prices. The only other place and I believe is the US distributor is Aquarium Obsessed. (www.aquariumobsessed.com)

Hi vapormd, I was using the dual 150w/4 39w T5 Elos Planet II lighting with Elos halides and Giesemann T5's.

I think there is nothing out there as nice as these.
I saw them at MACNA, you could put your hand on top and virtually no heat, with no fans!
Amazing design.......It's the Ferarri of lighting I think

Nuuze,

Why the change from the Planet IIs? Was there not enough light with the 150s?

Thanks,

Derek

Thanks everyone!

Derek, I am actually impressed with the Planet II 150w but wanted to try something different and more wattage since my tank is mostly all SPS. I wanted to see what colors and growth I can get out of my SPS since a 1/3 or so are now mostly LE's and possibly using different K's. I also wanted to keep the Euro look and quality to match my Elos System 120 therefore stuck to Euro and bought Sfiligoi. Both are Italian companies with crafstmanship and build quality very much alike.

So far i really like the Infinity/ACLS combo. Lighting combination is setup a little different than what I'm used to since the MH are dimmable. Normally we have actincs on first then MH then reverse order. Not with ACLS though, ACLS slowly lights up the MH 2/3 of the way then light up actinics, that way a light does not just turn on, pretty cool. Some other features I figured out so far is sunrise/sunset times are adjustable from 15 minutes or more and how long of full sun and percent of intensity. You can mimic a east to west sunrise and sunset with the two MH bulbs. Right now the new bulb feature is at 73% and will increase over the next two weeks to 100% to acclimate animals. Theres a cloudy day setting you can set for emmulate a cloudy day every 5, 10 or 15 days of your choice. I haven't had a chance to play with customizable photoperiods, moon phases and longitude/latitude yet.

Are the ACLS included with the XR4 set? I know it says ballasts included at RG, but I'm not sure if the the ACLS is the ballast, or control module, or both.

Cheers,

Jim

The ACLS is the MH ballast and controll module. The only ballast that I can see in the fixture is for the T5's.

Thanks everyone! So far I'm really excited with my new lighting system!

Just to clarify my tank system is not the ADA system but an Elos System 120. Elos is also a Reef Central sponsor. Any questions can be answered there. Jesse is an awesome person to deal with. Since Elos is local to my area I was able to personally meet and deal with him. My tank system can also be viewed by clicking on my red house.

Thanks for all your help answering all my questions Naka! You were the only other person I know that owns the light system I bought. I will definately try the cloud setting.
