wonderful...there are a bunch that look like the bottom pic on one of my rocks. they suck back into the rock when something goes by...would a peppermint shrimp be able to catch it?

ok, if that's a feather duster, then i'm in good shape. there a bunch of those on the rock. i only have a couple aiptasia then. is it ok just to grab them and pick them off? or do they leave spores that grow more or something?
i don't know if getting the peppermint shrimp would be a problem, cause i have a spotted sweetlips that i read is supposed to think they're a tasty treat. thanks!

I had a bad infestation before I went from my 80 to 150g. I took the rock outside left it lay. This has to be done until the rock bleechs. At least a couple months. It will be completely dry. The use a brass brush and boiling water to clean the rock. Then introduce it to the new tank and new LR. The dead rock will come back less the Aiptasia.

looks like the aiptasia has a larger trunk then the feather duster?
will fish that eat the aipthasia leave the feather dusters alone or will they ellimintate them as well? |

They will leave the feather dusters alone. Even if they dont the feather dusters are so fast they will retract before anything can get to them.

I have read that once the aptasia are gone the nudi will starve to death because there is nothing more to eat. Is this correct??
