pistol shrimp? salinity/iodine

Just purchased a pistol shrimp and was wondering about two things. What is an exceptable level of salinity for this species and how important is it to have elevated levels of iodine?

I like to keep my SG at 1.025 for inverts. If you do regular water changes, your iodine level will be fine.

I second those comments. NSW salinity is best for everything, IMHO - 1.025 - 1.026.

In addition, iodine can be dangerous. It's hard or impossible to test for, and can be toxic at elevated levels. Do regular water changes and you'll be fine.
