help me with my pink palythoa

I have a rock with 30 polyps, pink palythoa, for 6 months. For the last 2 weeks, 2/3 of the polyps have been closed. Tank parameters and all other corals in the tank are fine. I think that some pest is bothering them. I was considering giving them a fresh water/iodine dip. Is this right to do or do I need to do something else to figure our what's bothering them?

Keep an eye on them and look for Nudibranchs during the day, they are very well camo'ed once you spot one you'll spot them all. If nothing during the day, use a flashlight at night and see if something is bothering them..usually a good time is when your tank has been completely dark for around 2 hours. Finally IMHO do a dip as a last resort, Paly's and Zoas close up from time to time anyway but if they start to dissapear then I would begin to worry.

I am wondering how you identified it as a playthoa? There are many different pink polyps out there and they require different care. Do you have a picture of the polyps? You should also try blasting them with a wide flow pump. Most pinks are high light and flow polyps and will usually have a very dense mat in which poop can build up and cause an infection if not in high flow. good luck
