Cheap equipment
I see at wall mart some cheapo breeder tanks for like 10 bones would they be a bad ideal to use for a fuge. Iv see people use tubs for sumps before. would it be a bad idea.

Not bad at all. What size tank are you making a fuge for?

If it fits and it holds water, use it.

I was thinking about puting to 2 ten gallons under it and drilling the sides of them and piping them together with a 2 inch pipe.

It sounds like a good idea to me.

the thing i dont like about these cheap little tanks is the glass is so thin... especially if put down under tank in stand - so easy to drop things or whatever where the glass might break... i had a 10gal drilled (side) to make it into a fuge and in the process of installing a bulkhead broke the glass out... of course i should have been more careful but the point is that its just thin glass and it doesnt take much for it to break |

Breeder tanks have much thimmer glass since they are not designed to have internal pressure exerted on them from holding water. Be very careful!

I'd try to figure out a way to use some sort of Rubbermaid container if I was in your situation, if you can anyway. Good Luck.

I have quite a bit of experience drilling tanks and I've broken about 5 of those 10 gal tanks from wallmart trying to drill them - and that was with 1/2" holes. That 2+ inch hole will be impossible to drill on those tanks, IMO.
I agree with the rubbermaid suggestion. |

Some of the ones I have seen sold as breeders are actually reptile tanks and not true aquariums. They are designed as terrariums or lizard tanks that may hold a few inches of water at most. I would make sure it is actually a breeder tank with a sticker on it statings so, they can visibly look the same.

To reduce shipping costs on some of the small tanks they use tempered glass. It's thinner & lighter and the cost for tempered is minimal to them.
