what kind of fish you have and inverts?something may be picking at it..
they are pretty much cave corals like the chilli..next to no light.. how much flow at it? it may be a case of something irritating it..

No fish, 1 coral banded shrimp, normal carbs and snails, the flow is in a circular motion , its not in a cave but out of direct light as muh as possible, How do i know if its dying?

mine does not open much, but sometimes it goes into "hiding" and I move it to somewhere with less light, and it become better.
