I'll have to try again tomorrow. My lights just went out. Thanks for the information. Yours is a very nice piece. I can't wait until mine gets that big.

BTW, how do you post that size picture on this forum. I got some good shots up close but the forum won't let me post anything larger.

One more thing, yours looks like it has some great potential to color up. I've seen some that were cream colored, color up beautifully in a few months time.

Go to the Reef Central Homepage, then go to photo gallery, then you can upload your photos into your own personal gallery. Once you do that, left click the image, go under "properties", highlight and then copy that address. Then come to the desired thread, click post reply, hit the IMG button, and paste the that address in there. Then click submit. BOOM.

I have it under 250 mh Iwaski's. I can't decide what lights I want to try next. What are you using. I did'nt want to put it in my 225 it has 4 400 mh ushio and radiums. I did'nt think it would like that intense lighting.

The polyps do inflate a tad more. These are very similar to favia corals. They almost look like a hybrid between blasstos/favias/candycanes. Many times they are simply just called called "rare blasstos" in the trade. They are indeed rare in the hobby and therefore command a hefty price tag. It's not uncommon for small fragments consisting of a few polyp heads to sell for 150+ dollars.
Now that is some purdy stuff! I remember seeing one a long time ago. Blood red with a vivid green running through it. So sweet.

Hey Znut, Actually they don't mind high light and high flow at all. It would probably feel right at home in your 225 gallon. That picture was taken under 2 x 400 watt helios 20k bulbs (awesome bulbs and color by the way) in a tank that is only 16" tall. I am about to move the tank into a different room, the lighting is going to be 3 x 250watt double ended hqi bulbs, 2 x 20k helios de and 1 x 10k AB de. I would move the coral in the 220, just start it off on the sandbed just to be safe. Sounds like you got a killer system.

Thanks Midgey! If you get a chance check out Vernon's book, under Acanasthrea lordhowensis, freakin' amazing corals. I think anything that has the name Lord Howe in it is a must have. It makes me feel so magestic. lol

I purchased about a month ago solid blue Blasto Wellsi from www.seacorp.com. It had 6 polyps and cost $65. I need to take a picture of it.
