Acan in trouble???

i have an acan for almost 4 months...started off with 3 baby polyps...and they have exploded into a colony on 12...morphing into some real cool colors, i have babies growing on another rock as well, today when i got home from work i noticed that the larger colony wasnt fully open...and one of the heads appears to be breaking loose...the colors are still very bright.. i fed the tank and it really didnt open at all....is this something anyone else has experienced, have a small outbreak of GH algae, started using a phosphate reactor last week, GH receding...other corals doing well
TIA for any suggestions
