I just picked up a red & green Favia at the sale my LFS just threw. Nice little colony, not badly priced at all.
Now I just need the digital cam so I can get a pic of it. Too bad my money either goes to medical bills or new corals, just depending on circumstances.. LOL.

nUgz,
My new Favia looks like yours, just with smaller coralites. Hope it keeps the colors. Also, looks like you have one of those " Is it a Favia or a Caulastrea?" specimens.
Great pieces guys.
I guess you haven't been by any of your favorite stores lately Kev, haven't seen much from you lately..

Or out Renting his soul to Satan, to get some one's long term collection with about 12 Special Edition Favias.
Oh, what about the possible Goniastrea? Very curious am I!

Man those are nice, Geris! Really Nice!
But I'd move the one next to that Gonipora before WWIII ensues ( if its not already too late..)
Too bad about the middle one. Never seen a piebald morph before, really unique looking.
BTW, do you have any full tank shots? I'd love to see them.

The "piebald" one looks like a few different Favias trying to grow over each other. I don't think it is one Favia.

Thanks Matthew!
I moved the favia a few months ago, because yep the goni started to bother it! Now its doing fine. Yeah the one in the middle was really special, but it was in another tank that I tore down
Well, this is kind of a thread jackin' , so im sorry, but here's the full tank shot (this is about a month ago, there have been minor changes):

Great Tank Geris, wish I had the room LOL.
I don't think the piebald Favia was a compound colony, rather just looks like there was gene drift in some of the dividing polyps. I don't know if different colonies would tolerate each other Al G Blenny ( neat handle BTW.)
That purple Favia in the pic above it was also a real keeper! Why can't I find some of these when I'm browsing a store! (Sigh)

Sheol- I can assure you that none of the pics I posted are Caulastrea. I assume you are referring to the second pic posted?? Here's a pic of two of those from when I first got them.

It was the green one in the 3d pic. I have something a lot like it, but it looks even more like a Caulastrea. ( its white & tan though with the "peppermint" stripes. Its not an Acan. I'm begining to think it IS a Favia. But its definetly "in-between" in looks. Yours reminds me of it..
