More show up for me every day...I can't even remember it's been so long. My hair was light enough it wasn't noticable until the last 5 years or so.

Age 20. It was a geology final.

Revlon is your friend. Most people's choice of fave wearing-colors don't match gray hair.

LOL, well Dan was 30 when he started, I think your family history has a lot to do with it. His Mother was totally white headed at 40, and his paternal grandmother still had some dark hair at 92.
I'm 51, not totally gray, but getting there. It's never bothered me and I don't dye it.

At 18, I noticed I a small streak of gray hair. They kinda looked like my blond highlights, so it didn't really bother me. However, around 21 or so, I started getting stray "blond" sprinkles across my temples. My sideburns and beard are also getting lighter. To add insult to injury, I found a gray hair on my chest! I ripped that sucker out. Fortunately, if I keep my hair short enough, you can't really notice, but once it gets longer, I find them.

I'm screwed, my mother was snow white when she was 32, and the gray I'm getting is pure white (none of that silver stuff).

And yes, Miss Clairol is your friend. I remember when I was a little boy, I used to help my mom color her hair. Hmmm...maybe that's where it started???

Don't TEMPT me lol.

My mother who is in her 60's looks like she is in her 50's. We use the same hairdresser. I asked my hairdresser how many grey hairs she really had and she told me they have all been grey for awhile! You would never tell on her...it looks so natural. I almost fainted right then and there. I guess that's what I have to look forward to.

LOL, I'd dye my hair, but then what am I going to to with the rest of me? I'm still old.

My mother had been totally gray for years (and dying it) before I knew she had a single gray hair!

I'm 38 and I've only ever found one. My hairdresser knows better than to mention it. He's a firm believer in "don't ask don't tell"

Despite having dirty blond hair on my head, I occasionally get all sorts of weird colors on my face. I've had patches of bright red and very dark brown. They never seem to be consistent though.

Does it only show when you're under pressure or embarrassed? My husband has a son that gets patches when under these situations. He calls it "Jason gone raccoon"

I dunno. I've rarely left it on long enough to tell. I did try the whole big huge sideburns thing in college, and I had a goatee for a few months a year or two ago. But the weird patches have always been in that in-between area on the lower cheek. . .

Yes! They are in my facial hair. I suppose I should have been more clear.

I was starting to wonder what sort of person would have color-changing hair. . .

I started turning gray when I was 17. I started dying my hair in my 20s. (I was a redhead for yrs.) My Mom's hair turned allmost completely gray when she was in her 20s. Both my kids hair started turning gray in their 20s.

I'm 46, and don't have any (yet). I have a friend who turned gray in high school, and all his siblings were gray in their 20s.
