Green Pocillipora

has anyone ever had pepperment shrimp eat there Green Pocillipora i have two and they are allmost half way through it
they never bothered any other coral before
is there anything i can do i thought about a fish that eats inverts but most of those fish also eat corals

I have never had a peppermint shrimp that ate an entire Pocillipora. As for a fish that eats inverts, you can either remove the inverts or remove the fish.

not sure what to do now i got the coral for only a buck i like it but i also like the shrimp there is know way i will take the whole tank down just to get them hopefully they stop after this one its still is alive i am thinking of putting it in my sump after the lights go off and put back once the lights come back on

positive it isn't a camel shrimp. alot of places mix them up as they are very simular

yes i must of looked at pics online a dozen times the 2 shripm i have are peppermints and i had some Aiptasia and they ate all of it i am not sure if camel shrimp will do that

i will feed my fish they will come out to get food some of the time and maybe i can take a pic and tell me what you guys think

yes they can eat aptasia also.

what are your water parameters? what kind of light is it under and where is it placed? and what kind of flow. all in all it don't look to bad for being new

My peppermint likes to rip my hammer coral apart. I try to feed an extra few pellets to make sure he's getting enough to eat, and it seems to be working.

I just don't have the heart to take him out of the tank, although I know I should.

it looked 10 times better when i first put it in after 30 mins all of the white spots were green polyps
i got the coral from a local frag tank
175 mh alittle higher that middel of the tank
i have a few other sps that are doing very good

i ment after 30 mins in the tank it look great
today all of the white spots were green polyps

I had a true peppermint literally attack a torch coral. He's gone now.
