I think what you mean to say is that Oceanic "forgets" to place them in the tank.

yeah, I believe that's true. My LFS got it in on a pallet, and I went to the Warehouse with him to see it. both the overflows, and the cap were not in there. he had to get one shipped to replace it.

The Tech series goes up to 120. The Ultimate series does have a 178 gallon and a 215 gallon. Both use Starphire glass and are available as reef-ready tanks.

Are the dimentions of the Ultimate series up to 120g the same as the Tech series?

I think the Ultimate series is Starphire on the front only, but not 100% sure. The 178RR is 60.5 x 24.5 x 29. The 215RR is 72.5 x 24.5 x 29. This is what the rep told me.

Well that is great! Are you sure? Did you talk to the manufacturer? I remember some said it was only the front. If all 3 sides are starphire, then that's better.

As I said before, I talked directly to the reps from All-Glass, person to person. I was told in no uncertain terms that the Tech is front starphire ONLY. Believe what you want!!

I am doing a mixed reef with mostly SPS. Trying to get away from having power heads in the tank. I may do a CL by going over the top. Use something like a mag 18 or one of the Rio hyper flows if the will run out of water. I know that a lot of people slam the Rio's but I had a 3100 run for 5 years and the Hyperflow 17 I have in my tank now is 3 1/2 years old. The impeller in the Hyper flow is very similar to the high output pumps I worked with when I ran a waste water treatment plant, only plastic and the power useage is much better than the other pumps I have seen.

I'd love to do a closed loop in that tank. You'd have to drill the glass though from what I've been hearing.

there are differing opinions, but from my personal experience, it appears to be 3 sides of starphire.

here is a pic of my tank when I had it sitting on the floor. the left is the front, the right is the left side of the tank...... notice how green the bottom looks.... It think it's 3 sided from these pics...

you could run plumbing over the back for the intake and returns.

That wouldn't give much flow though right? Do you know how much flow you get from the return? I'm guessing around 1200 if that. Please let me know. If I did do the return different, I think I'd use a wavy sea or sea swirl.

the returns are rated @ 600gph each. I think 4 vortechs would be sweet. nothing like 100x turnover in a 120.

yup that would be very sweet. =) I wonder what all the controller features are going to have on it? I need 1 more.

I see PFO is putting out another type of led system. It's called Galileo. Have you heard about it? I wonder what's the difference between that and the Solaris. I can't wait to see some of your SPS grow under it. That will be exciting.

That certainly looks like Starphire on 3 sides with regular glass on the bottom. So, the Ultimate series is Starphire front only? Is there any difference between the Ultimate series and the Tech series? Assuming if it is less panes of Staphire glass only, would assume that it is less expensive.

When I posted on the icecap forum they said a controller was going to be able to create a pulsing movement. So that would kind of give a wave. I just would like to add some random current as well. Larry did you get your vortech fixed? How do you like their flow? I think it's pretty awesome!
