Microbubbles ?
I have a modified seaclone skimmer that I have been running for a while now with no problems. However 2 days ago I put in some Red Slime Algae remover and almost instantly I had microbubbles coming from the skimmer(ALOT !) So I turned off the skimmer for about 12 hrs. to see if that made a difference but it did not. now the skimmer is creating crazy amounts of skimmate but it is very light in color compared to what it usually produced. So my question is, has this happened because of the algae remover and if so how long should I wait to see if it stops.

You should turn the skimmer OFF after treating for anything, to allow the product to do its thing and not become skimmate!
Dont know about seaclones so cant help with the bubbles.. |

How long should I leave it off after I add the treatment?

The box said nothing about turning anything off, nor did it say how long it took to "treat" the water. But as soon as I put the stuff in my tank, I turned off my skimmer. So again I ask how long should I expect this to continue? Should I leave my skimmer off for a whole day?

The issue is that your skimmer is removing whatever you added to the tank. If you want the stuff in there, don't skim. If you want it removed, skim. The skimmer probably will act up for a bit, if it bothers you to skim that wet then dial it down until you are happy with the foam and slowly bring it back up as needed.

You may want to remove any carbon from filters while treating as well. Also, I used a turkey baster to blow off the slime. It worked fairly well.

You'll have to do about 3 25% water changes before the micro bubbles will cease.... i have went through the same thing twice. also if your salinity is to high that will also cause micro bubbles just give it time... and next time you add any treatment products ... turn off skimmer... it's okay live and learn.

if it's your only source for air in the water however i suggest buying a little cheap air pump and stone for the time being to supplement for the air loss.. Also if you overdose that red slime stuff it may have effect on ph and oxygen levels.

When I got up this morning there were no more bubbles. I was just concerned about how long that would last. Thanks for your input.
