120g AGA MegaFlow Bulkhead size?

Hello all,

Last night the outflow on my tank burst. Most of it fell into the sump where it was returned as it normally would have been, but there was a great deal of splashing and spillage, what a mess.

At any rate, the bulkhead that is attached to the tank is fine, but the hose barb fitting with the hex at the top that is connected to it is hopelessly damaged. I bought this tank used and it appears that it had been modified somehow and that modification has failed. I need to only replace the fitting that attaches to the bulkhead, but without dismantling the tank, which I didn't have time to do this morning before work, I don't really know what size I am dealing with or what part to buy. I know I want them on order today though.

I looked at the AGA MegaFlow overflow kits and the parts I want are clearly pictured, but they don't tell you the specifics on each part. I don't want to spend $50 (plus overnight shipping) on an entire new kit, can someone point me in the direction of the components I have described? Savko doesn't seem to have the parts, but I may have not looked in the right place....

Thanks

should be a 10-20 dollar problem, hard to advise on parts without actually seeing the part but even a trip down to your local plumbing store may yield results, youd be surprised.

The AGA Megaflows have a slip bulkhead. From your description it seems that the previous owner inserted a barbed fitting into the bulkhead. Is their any pvc pipe between the barb fitting and bulkhead or is the barb fitting directly fitted to the bulkhead?

barbra,
I have that bulkhead if you need it. Pay the shipping and thrown in a couple bucks for the fitting and its yours. I had to buy a new Megaflow kit to get a strainer so I have all the other parts left...All 3 bulkheads that came with it for return and overflow holes plus a universal one. Thats if its the standard one that came with the kits with the barbed fitting on the end. Wasnt sure by the way you described it above
PM me if interested and I can get in mail today from NC if its the one you need.

These are the ones that came from the new kits

The barb fitting is directly fitted to the bulkhead. I think I have found a solution with Phyxius though. Is this a modified version by the previous owner do you think?

The older style Megaflow kits used bulkheads used slip fittings for glueing PVC. The newer style has barbs, but it cannot be glued to like Phyxius's.

I'll clamp it then, since he is sending me the bulkhead as well.
