PITSTOP,

I have followed this setup over the years, and I have always been very impressed with your system. Congratulations to you for sharing such a wonderful hobby with so many young people. Inspirational indeed.

Nice work!

There are a bunch of my students over the past 5 years that have become reef OBSESSED - a few of them were not even my students that would visit my reef every day and also became obsessed - several of them are actually RC members now...

I am starting the Fauna Marin Ultralith system January 2, 2008 - along with switching to a drip system instead of a calcium reactor, I am hoping for explosive colors and growth.

Thanks to all for the compliments!

I've been thinking about doing this in my 7th grade science classroom as well. Grant writing is a necessary piece in order for me to pull this off.

One question: Is your school climate controlled? We do not have air conditioning, and things can get pretty stifling in the middle school. (mid-80's in the summer). I'm guessing the chiller would be a "must-have" item in my case.

Did your classroom require any electrical service upgrades for the reef? Any issues getting approval by your building principal or the BOE?

This is an inspiration for me. I dream of doing this in my school sometime in the near future.

Thanks for sharing!

Conesus_Kid - you are asking the right questions - BOE issues, electrical issues, etc. - I am on my way for a family trip now, I will post answers and tips re your questions next weekend - I have lots of stories about dealing with central office and grants which is a MUST!

It's incredible how indirectly destructive a tornado can be. I was born and raised in Kansas and know all to well your loss. I always imagined it would be middle schoolers that brought on the demise of something so beautiful, but now I see that I should give them more credit.

Awesome tank as always, looks like you re-aquascaped. And everything looks really healthy and happy, again, as always

You still have the BTA in that system?
