Found the first Tropical of the Season

Went seining this morning over at Fire Island Inlet. Looks like it's going to be good year for Northern Puffers and Pipefish. We also found one very small Permit

Im psyched to try out my net. I may go next weekend at the least i can collect silversides! I may try the Rockaways if i can figure out exactly whyere to go.

Plenty of silversides

Also found two odd Sea Robins, they aren't the typical ones found around here. Of course fishbase is giving me problems, so I haven't ID them yet.

Looks like the Sea Robins are Prionotus scitulus. The cool part, there are no records of them being found north of the Carolinas/Virginia area

We got them both in my office tank at the lab

Couple of the fish geeks from the DEC are coming down tomorrow or Friday to take a look.
