TYREE frags from CRASE

Haven't seen any posts about the frags people picked up from Mr. Tyree. How are they settling into Oklahoma tanks? Are they enjoying water with some red dirt in it.................

I have managed to kill 3 out of 4 already. Everything else that I purchased from others has survived well and has wonderful color. One of my Tyree frags came out of the bag bleached out and never pulled thru. The other 2 slowly died off.

All three of mine are okay. My Clarkii Clown kept knocking off the rock that the strawberry patch plate coral was on. After the third or forth knockoff, the frag broke loose. So I wedged it in a crack in my rock work, and it's been there ever since (despite the Clowns best efforts to remove it).

So he's claimed this rock for his own and you go a throw a frag in like you own the place or something....

Mine are all doing well. I don't know which one is which, but they all have their polyps out.

Both of mine are doing fine, I even got a bonus, a tiny piece of what looks like stylophora was in the bottom of one of my bags, I mounted it and it is opened up and looks like it is doing good.

AS far as Roman's go, he has had good results. Of course, we haven't ever had a bad piece from him.

Frag report...

Fingers crossed...

So far all of the frags I purchased at CRASE are doing well. I received 5 Tyree frags and they all look to be okay. SPS polyps look healthy. It's hard to tell on the small montipora frags, but they still have good color - I'm just patiently waiting to see some growth...

Same also holds true for the frags I purchased from Roman and Oddballs...

so far so good - pouring on the calcium...

I am just having a little issue with my armor of god palys. They have yet to actually open, so I am waiting (and hoping) to see them open. However, my birdsnest has been just fine.

My tyree frags are doing well except that one is not showing the color that I thought it would be. I bought an orange monti cap that is doing really well and a ROAB blue that is pink underneath with light yellow colored polyps. I don't know if I got the wrong one or if it is just taking a while to get acclimated but it is still doing well.

I've had new palys not open for weeks, and they eventually do and end up doing just fine. I'm not sure why some do it, while others open within a few minutes. I wouldn't worry too much yet.

I liked the birdsnest as well. I missed a Steve Tyree frag of it. I went to Aquariums & they had a huge bright pink birdsnest, that I just couldn't live without. Soon I parted with my money and with a pink birdsnest in hand, left the store (there's a saying in there some where). A week later it's still bright pink & about 5" in diameter!

sweet ray, I think I just got one of those at CRASE. I hope he does well for me. I've killed 3 birdnests already.

Steve Tyree is one of the coral farming guru's out there.

Heres some of his work: http://www.reeffarmers.com/

Update...

All frags still showing growth except the Diamond tipped montipora. It is still only about the size of a quarter...alive but no visible growth...

I did get a bonus from Steve: My purple slimer acropora came in on a nice sized piece of rock. There's a fat aiptasia just bursting out of that rock. I'm planning on removing the rock, acropora and all, long enough to zap it with superglue gel. Let's see if the anenome can get past the super glue!
