I bought a glasscages 240 gallon tank in 08/06 and I am very happy with it.
I was lucky that they were making a west coast delivery run and got a good deal on shipping.

Alot of people hear about them and seem to like to repeat horror stories about them, but not very many actually have had bad experinces.
They seem to be a lightening rod for good/bad threads.

The only negative on my my tank was they didn't do a lot of cleaning. It didn't come with a showroom polish, but the money I saved, I can deal with that.

I`ve seen a couple of tanks they are built like tanks..just sloppy silcone work

On my tank the euro bracing had excess silicone and on the bottom wasn't the best, but the verticle seams were just fine.

I agree totally I have a 180 from them and have had no problems either my eurobrace was a little sloppy but the canopy cover that. My only suggestion would be either have them cut the teeth for the overflow covers wider or get the covers from someone else. Theirs are really close together and I think they need to be wider.

I got a 240 from them, and would be very leery about recommending Glass Cages to anyone else.

Aside from the silicone job (and it was Very sloppy), Ive issues with the top rim being poorly sealed which allows water to leak through once in a while. Ive also got one vertical seam that looks to be slowly separating- there are definitely bubbles in the silicone along that seam that werent there before. Makes me nervous to say the least. The crossbars are also poorly done- rather than running outside edge to outside edge, there is a small lip on the inside of the top, with another sheet of glass siliconed on top of those. Just not as stable as it could have been. (I would post photos for you, but my canopy makes it difficult for me to do so). I agree with eyebedam on the teeth in the overflow too- its not structural, but they are quite narrow and clog up easily.

I got a stand from them also- it was Very poorly built, and I had to modify it. There are vertical supports in the middle of the long sides, but they didnt actually touch the rim! There was a thick glob of wood glue on top of the supports, with the rim resting on top of the glue.

When I tried to contact the company about the quality and the concerns I had about the structural integrity, they were exceptionally rude and difficult to deal with.

There are some people with smaller tanks out there who say glass cages is just fine- I can Not suggest them to you if youre thinking of getting a tank more than say 75g.

I purchased a 310 from them in July of 07. We drove up there and picked it up. (really nice guy) Its been up and running since oct 07. Just like the other guys have mentioned the silicone work on the bottom and top are a little sloppy however the vertical seems are flawless. My overflow covers could not handle my pump. (dolphin 4500) I think after head loss its turning around 3500 gph so i had to make the slots wider/drill holes in some of them/snap a few of them off and replace them with gutter guard to get the level down in the tank. The tank is awesome and the price cant be beaten.
