Live Aquaria (Divers Den) Experinence

Well, I started the process of stocking my 180 FOWLR after loosing it to ich. So i bought the 9 inch tankraised Emperor Angel from Randy at Reef Creation and wanted to get a large puffer. The other day I found a perfect black dog face puffer that was 8 inches on divers den at live aquaria.com. I decided to get it, and recevied the box today. I kept the lights dim and acclimated the fish in the box using the drip method, but thought I saw an awful lot of white and spots on the body. So I finished acclimating and added him to my tank, at which time I noticed that the body was really a light black with white spots...I was just wondering if it was stress from shipping so I ran some errands after watching him and the Emperor to make sure there was no issues.

While I was out, I recevied a phone call from livequaria saying they sent me a Guineafowl Puffer by mistake and I could keep it and they would either give me credit or credit my card back. I was kinda suprised, I got a beautiful 9 inch puffer and they didn't want me to ship it back to them. I couldn't beleive the excellent cusotmer service they provided, and how appologetic they were. (Unfortunately they sent the black dog face to some one else...but this one I recevied is gorgeous and of course the wife likes him better!)

I just thought I would take a few seconds to share a good customer experience for a change seeing as them seem to happen so infrequently

I am not familiar with the puffer you received but it sounds as though your happy with it.

They (Liveaquaria) refunded you for the purchase and did not want payment for the wrong fish? That is good customer service.

I have had nothing but good experience with them myself.

I'm not sure what you paid for the fish, but guineafowl puffers are usually atleast a couple hundred for a medium to large size. Maybe you got a good deal Keep an eye on him...they tend to be agressive.

yeah they let me keep the fish for no cost, and I did some digging around on the internet, one that is 9 inches is between 200 and 300. The fish is already eating, chasing hermits, and swimming in the open.

Brent, yeah I really wanted the black face puffer, but this guy is really neat.

Chris - yeah I am a little lax with the whole QT'ing

I've ordered from them in the past, and was 100% satisfied with the service. I had one fish die about a week after I received it, and they gave me a full credit towards a future purchase, just on my word that there was a loss. I'd absolutely order from them again.

Considering you lost your whole tank to ich already you really should qt fish. That same thing happened to me when I had a fo. Set up a 55 in your basement with a hob filter. I put all fish through 1 month of hypo before adding to my tank after my wipeout. Never had an issue after I started doing that

I also have had great experience with liveaquaria and try to order from them if I need to get something online. Sounds like you got a pretty sweet deal out of it.

Just to add to the history of the Emperor Angel, that is the one from March 2007's "The Tank of the Month" John Tangeman.
