Showing of my 3/4g nano!

I posted some pics in the 'show off your nano' thread and have gotten a lot of responses since then, so I thought "heh why not post a bio of the tank?"

Disclaimer: The clam in the nano is still under two inches which means it feeds primarily on phyto and is not relying on photosynthesis as its main source of energy yet. It has been growing steadily for 3months in my nano and as soon as it gets a little bigger it will be going into our 100g under MH.

Lights: 18 watts

Filtration: 2 red sea tiny HOB filters: one with filter media, the other with carbon and Phosban.

Digital thermostat and heater for the night time (just in case) and a computer fan keeps it cool during the day. (I know these two seem counter productive but w/ a water volume this small I want to avoid swings in temperature when the lights go on and off).

Inhabitants: 2 porcelain crabs, 1 pom-pom crab, 1 high-fin goby w/ matching pistol shrimp, clam, snail, feather duster and corals.

I love this tank and would greatly appreciate any feedback, and or ideas (especially if anyone out there has an auto-top-off idea for a tank this size!).

Any thoughts?

bingo. there was an algae breakout. Good eyes!!! After these pictures I put Phosban in and it helps a lot. That rock on the right grows algae while the one on the left does not b/c the one on the left is covered in coraline. So in a couple weeks Im stealing a piece of coraline covered rock from our 100g to replace the non-covered rock on the right. I know...."You should find the source of the growth and address that instead of the algae" but I'd rather just replace the rock so that the macro-algaes I have in their by choice grow better. =).

lol...go to another eye doctor. You may not be able to see the letters but if you can spot a pod from a hundred feet away they may be able to customize a test for you. Thanks for the replies!!

Very well done....you have done a beautiful work of art.
Do you find the nano more work than your 100g ??

Sure thing:
Corals: red mushroom, blue-dot mushroom, neon green rics, pink and blue ric, green/blue/purple rics, orange zoos, green mushroom, brown zoos, star polyps, trumpets, blastos, digitada.

Macro Algaes: caulerpas (a lot of work without the phosban but the phosban slows down their growth to a manageable level), red grape kelp, and dragons breath?.

Here is the filter system: I taped a quarter to the back of the tank to help show size a little better.

Pretty funny, but it usually happens this way. I get it the way I like it and then change it... I saw the beginings of what looked like cyno so I added another filter for more water movement. I changed out some rock and re-did the aquascaping. I'll post pictures tomorrow of the new set-up to see what ya'll think.

Stunning tank! Looking forward to seeing the new pics. I do have a question.... what heater do you have in the system and how are you mounting it? Someday, I hope to have a tank such as you have set up sitting at the desk in my office. I've seen several examples of reefs this small but yours is truly outstanding.
....and hey what kinda freash water tanks did you run beforethe reefs?

Thanks. The heater is from drs.foster. It is an undergravel heater (obviously a small one) except I just hid it behind my rock work. I have it on a digital thermometer (also from drs.foster) so it only kicks on when the tank goes below 74.

Fresh water: the usual, nothing special. tetras, cat fish etc.
