Cool splitting zoo
I saw these at a LFS today. I have heard that they do this but never saw it in person...
edit - notice the polyp that has two mouths.

I dont think he's buying thm, just saw the picture and noticed that its different.
To add to it, I've got some "army green" zoanthids that do the same thing quite often, but it seems to be isolated to them, as I've never seen any of my other colonies do that - only budding off of the sides. |

Those are some neat zoos. Someone awhile ago posted a thread about this because one of their zoos was doing the same. Not too common with zoos.

My Pink zoas do this very often, especially in the middle of the colony.....

No, I did not buy them. I have plenty of these. The LFS has lots of frags all the time...they have huge grow out systems in the back.

Those blue with yellow centers are sweet! I'd love some of those, never seen them before.
What lighting are they running on these?

Those were taken under 2 400 watt Radiums, 1 250 wat ushio, and 2 110 watt VHO actinics in a 4 foot 120 gallon tank.

I have some mean greens that split like that, but it seems to be a pretty slow process.

I don't have a name for the blue/yellow center zoos. I call them blue with yellow center zoos. I do not have any of the above zoos for sale/trade. This post was merely to show the zoo polyp splitting, but then I wanted to show off a little.
Sorry.

That is the whole thing...I rarely post here because my tank is 99% SPS. I just happen to have a few cool zoos.

jcigars on zoozrus.com has lots of them that he got from me. I think he sells them, but I don't know where they originally came from. I got mine at a LFS here in Jackson about 5-6 years ago.

My blueberry zoos also split that way... I notice others form a mat and then little buds appear... while others form individual polyps then add the mat.
