Latest power bill!

I just saw my latest power bill and it went up $115. I knew ameren was going to stick it to us, but I didn't expect this! I don't even have a fish tank going! With a $235 power bill, there is no way I could afford to have another sps tank.

That SUCKS!!! I live in southern ill, and they say are's is'nt going up as much as if you live in the city, so hopefully mine wont be that bad. My bill is normally 230 but most is in gas the electric last month was 76, and I have two tnks up one of them is reef but only 192 watt light.

Mine went up $50 to $316 per month under budget billing. This really sucks! I'm decreasing my photo period for sure.

I just enrolled in budjet billing. Hopefully that will help. I want to start up my tank, but with 600 watts of lights and a dozen pumps going, I don't see it happening.

Holy cow! Ours was 158.48 but we have gas furnace. Laclede was 227.51. In the summer we hit the 300's though.

and only 144 watts of lighting. When I had the 30 gallon our bill was normally $58. 96 watts of lighting, only 875 square feet. But everything is electric, no gas. eh, this will get interesting with the new tank. I'm scared now.

Since Ameren and UE merged somewhat, is this something we should be expecting on the MO side? Or does it deal with some legislative/regulatory issues in IL?

It's an Illinois thing. They went before the the PSC in MO asking for a 10% rate hike and they pretty much told them that they're making too much money and not taking care of their customers and might be told to cut their rates.

I am on Southwestern Electric.
My Jan statement said I used 1,760 Kwh@0.087150 for a total of 153.30+21.00 facility charge.
Historically Jan is my cheapest month.
August is my highest at 3700-4000Kwh.
I am hoping for a mild summer.

My God! What are you guys running? I just got my bill the other day and it was $260 for gas and electric combined. That's in a two story house with a basement and 4 people living in it. I have my 120g, 10g, and QT all running. Do you have all electric appliances? I have gas stove, furnace, dryer, and water heater.
