Marc, you crack me up. You not the only person that started to scrape the overflow box. Colors pop out at you w/ clean back ground.

naka, I was under the impression the pipefish couldn't handle the flow of a setup like this. What has your experience been? What type of pipe is it? Nice tank BTW

I got that pipefish back in September at MACNA from Joetb. I always see him picking at the walls for pods. I see him eat frozen food, but that's about it. Low maintenance and has adapted to my high flow tank. When my vortech pumps reduces flow to 50% by RK2, you can see him swim out in the open.

You see all the flat pieces that can be easily broken? After it encrusts, the left corner has your name on it Brian.

My first time posting in this thread but, I've been following it closely since its start.

Naka, I love the pics of your tank! Nice job on everything!

How did you get your RK2 to reduce the flow of the Vortech? I thought only the controllers (when the come out) and the BB were the only equipment capable of doing that.

Hey Miles, thanks for the compliment. I just programmed the RK2 for wavemaker mode (on/off every 20 min). I don't think I'm burning the motor b/c I have it on battery backup. So, actually I'm running my vortech 100% -- 50% every 20 min. It's like increasing and decreasing the flow manually w/ the little nob.

naka, aren't you worried about killing the run time and life of your BB for when you really need it (a power outage) by running it on the battery for 20 minutes, every 20 minutes?

That is what Tim (ecotech marine) said regarding bb wavemaker. I'll try this until the controller comes out. I don't think it's going to burn out the battery by then. Even if it does, you can send it back for a replacement for like $45.

Well Houston finally got cold for the first time this year 32 degrees. Most of school and business closed due to icy roads.
I know 32 deg. is not that bad, but Houston shuts down when you see ice on the streets. So, I stayed home yesterday to take some pics. Enjoy!
